Honestly even Bill Foster wasn't a great hire


Yes he had a great team that had an NIT championship and then a solid tournament team the next year that might have gotten into the Sweet 16 with better draw. And some very memorable players that we all love from those teams as well.

BUT... he too was close to retirement when we hired him. He basically had one fantastic recruiting class that led to a good team and then that was it. As much as we enjoyed the heck out of the 94-96 teams, they were a one-off and didn't leave the program very well positioned moving forward. Much like Buzz, but for different reasons.
